Gu (Goo) Fidelis was born on January 17, 1979 in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, south of Brazil.
Music started in his life at the age of 6 when he started to study the electronic organ.
Small presentations at school and in similar events, even as a child, scared the fear away from him and began to build the confidence he has currently on stage.
After five years studying electronic organ, he jumped into the drums.
Later on, at the age of 17, he accidentally hurt his foot playing basketball at school and he was forced to stay at home for five days, not being able to touch his foot on the ground. That's when he picked his mom's old acoustic guitar and learned, by himself, how to play it. All the knowledge built on the organ lessons were transformed into the self-learning of the acoustic guitar.

Three years later he began on his first band, “Mirabilis Jalapa”, as the drummer, but still being so involved with the guitar skills development. Being on a band and so close to them all, including the guitarist, songs started to be composed and the singing skills were also upgraded.
Three more years have passed and he left this band with a handful of his first compositions.
Two other bands came on the way but they didn't last long.

In 2003, driven by a (borrowed) motorcycle accident, he started to sing and play with his partner Rodrigo Ribeiro, forming the Fidelis & Ribeiro Acoustic. This job last for over four years with great success and recognition, including even a television show under the same name on a local channel of Cable TV in Florianópolis, their home town.

In 2006/2007, Gu Fidelis was part of the Ídolos (Brazilian "American Idol") show, appearing nationally on an open TV Channel and showing his voice to the whole country. This participation was an injection of even more desire to work and develop his musical talent, and then share it with as many people as he possibly could. On the same year he left Florianópolis and moved to US to pursue his musical career.

Fort Lauderdale/Miami was his landing area. He was able to perform everywhere, doing it 6 nights a week, and also got some recognition in the South Florida's market such as a nomination for the Press Award 2011, 2012 and 2013, for example.
While living in Miami, Gu put together all the songs he had written throughout his life and some other new compositions (also in English) and recorded his first album called “Gu Fidelis - Um Sonho”, which was released worldwide in 2011. (Ps: You can find it on iTunes as well. Here's the link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/um-sonho/id399241556)

At the end of 2011 Gu decided to take one more big step in his career: To explore the California's market. He moved to Los Angeles and lived for about 3 years between Los Angeles and Orange County performing all over the area.

After that experience, Gu was offered to perform on a cruise ship, having his first contract with Norwegian Cruise Line aboard the M/S Sun between November 2013 and March 2014.
The contract was an absolute success. Gu was nominated "Top Comment Card Earner" (an internal recognition at NCL) on 3 out of the 4 months he spent there. CDs were purchased and distributed all over the world by the guests who now follow Gu on social media asking him to come perform on a city near them.

Due to the magnificent job Gu showed NCL while on the M/S Sun, he was asked to join a second contract, this time on the M/S Pride of America, a ship that sails year round in Hawaii. Gu ended up doing two great contracts on that ship and fell in love with the Hawaiian Islands.

Back to Miami, Gu performed a few more years consistently among restaurants, hotels, bars and private events. He was also involved with an agency who booked him for so many corporate events, which was a huge success. Companies kept asking for him over and over again.

In mid 2018 the opportunity of moving to Hawaii showed up. Plans were put in practice, last gigs were played and in January 2019 Gu established himself on West Maui.
Within a short amount of time, Gu was already performing around and sharing his music and Aloha with residents and visitors of the beautiful island of Maui.

Gu resided on Maui for the past few years until the Lahaina wildfires in Aug 2023 transformed the city in ashes. Gu then decided to relocate back to Miami to continue sharing his passion and talent in a city and market already in love with him.
